Open Access Week Library Celebration 2023
We are delighted to announce that BRAC University Ayesha Abed Library, in collaboration with the Open Society Network (OSUN), is planning to celebrate Open Access Week 2023, a time to recognize and promote open access to scholarly research and educational resources. The purpose of this Library Open Access Week is to promote open access principles, encourage faculty, researchers, and students to make their work openly available, and raise awareness about the benefits of open access in advancing research at BRAC University.
This event presents an excellent opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of open access in academia and beyond. This year, the theme of International Open Access Week is "Community over Commercialization".
We have planned a series of activities to celebrate Open Access Week, which will run from October 27 to November 2.
One of the highlights of the celebration is the "Open Access Publication Award." We will be awarding one faculty member for having the highest number of citations for an open access article published in the last three years in Scopus (from 2021 to September 2023).
Another category of the award will recognize the topmost viewed theses in BRAC University's Institutional Repository (dspace.bracu.ac.bd), including one for a postgraduate student, one for an undergraduate student, and one for the most viewed internship report.
We are honored to have Professor Syed Mahfuzul Aziz, PhD, our Pro Vice-Chancellor & Acting Vice-Chancellor in charge, as the Chief Guest at the faculty and student publication award ceremony. This marks the second time we are celebrating Open Access Week at BRAC University.
