Plagiarism and Reference Management using Mendeley

Plagiarism is considered as a form of misconduct in scholarly communications. This session will cover Issues related to Plagiarism and how the reference manager Mendeley can be used in managing the references, creating bibliographies and others. It will also cover the Plagiarism Policy of BRAC University.

Turnitin-Anti Plagiarism Web Tool

This workshop is designed to provide an overview of the Turnitin. Turnitin is an online application used to evaluate writings for improper citation and possible plagiarism. Documents are compared to web contents, previouslysubmitted student papers, databases of electronic books and articles.

 

Learning Outcomes:

After attending the workshop, participants will be able to …

 

  • Create a Turnitin user profile.
  • Create classes and assignments and invite students to it.
  • Locate student resources on the Turnitin website.
  • Manually submit student papers to an assignment.
  • Track and review individual student status within the class system.
  • View, download and print the Originality Report on individual papers submitted.
  • Access additional resources and training materials from the Turnitin website.
