BRAC University Library offers a number of programs throughout the year to assist students, researchers and faculty members in developing research skills and to use the full range of information resources available at the library. Our objective is to promote user understanding and use of information in the discovery, creation and transmission of knowledge to enhance their academic experience and lifelong learning. Library is also creating subject specific Research Guides and Online Tutorials for the users on the library website. The following library sessions and workshops are conducted by the library.

Library Orientation Sessions

Audience: Freshers

Duration: 10-15 Minutes.

Topics: Introduction to the library, How to use spaces, services, and resources.

One-Hour Workshops

Audience: Students, Researchers, and Faculty

Duration: 1 hour + 15 minutes Q&A

Topics: Using the library website and catalog, Searching databases for articles and theses, Advanced search techniques, Evaluating internet resources.

Subject-Specific Database Workshops

Audience: Students, Researchers, and Faculty

Duration: 1 hour.

Topics: Accessing specialized databases, Research methods and tools, Search techniques for academic efficiency.

Citation Management Workshop

Audience: Students, Researchers, and Faculty

Duration: 1 hour.

Topics: Why and how to cite, Using Mendeley and Zotero, Creating and managing citations efficiently.

Academic Integrity Workshop

Audience: Students and Faculty

Duration: 1 hour.

Topics: Understanding BRAC University’s Academic Integrity Policy, Anti-plagiarism tools (Turnitin), Proper referencing practices.

Research Skills & Author Workshops

Delivered in collaboration with publishers and designed for advanced students and early-career researchers.
