CRP Training: Koha and MARC 21

A nine days training on Koha,and MARC 21 was organized by BRAC University Ayesha Abed Library on December 30,2012-January 9, 2013. It was a customized training specially designed for Librarian and IT Staff of CRP (Centre for Rehabilitation of the Paralysed). This nine days training program was conducted by the library team of BRACU followed by practical session in which participants got hands on training on Koha and MARC 21.
In closing session of this training, Professor Ainun Nishat, Vice Chancellor, BRAC University distributed the certificates to participants.

Drupal Workshop For Library Professionals

A one-day workshop on "Using Open Source Content Management System Drupal to build Library Websites" will be held on 7th October, 2012 at BRAC University Library.

 

This workshop is aimed at librarians who are curious about
Drupal or who are just getting started.It will provide an overview of Drupal and explain how it can be used to quickly and easily build an excellent library website.

 

Library/IT professionals from various Institutions will participate in the workshop and will be able to learn the following:

 

• Drupal, its features and what it offers
• How Drupal can benefit libraries
• Libraries that are using Drupal
• Drupal modules that are created for and used by libraries
• How to setup a simple Drupal site and the steps/process involved
• A hands on session for librarians how to upload/edit file, image and other items in to Drupal site.

Press Release for RFID

BRAC University Library launched the first RFID system in Bangladesh

 

 

BRAC University Ayesha Abed Library is the first among the university libraries in Bangladesh has launched the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) System in the library.  The official launching ceremony of RFID system was held on 30th October 2011. The Vice Chancellor of BRAC University Professor Ainun Nishat officially inaugurated the newly established RFID System. Ms Hasina Afroz, Librarian of BRAC University gave a briefing on the use of the new system. Library professionals from different universities and institutes, and faculty and students of BRAC University were present at this ceremony. Integration of RFID at BRACU Library ensures considerable security and adequate facilitates for librarians to provide more value added services to users in digital environment and work comfortably for a digital future.
