Trial access to Cambridge Higher Education Textbook has been set up for Brac University from 14 November to 31 December 2022.

To access Cambridge Higher Education Textbook off-campus, you will need your OpenAthens Username and Password.

Trial access to Cambridge Higher Education Textbook

Trial access to Cambridge Higher Education Textbook has been set up for Brac University. All users who use the internet under the Institute’s IP range, would be able to access the Textbook directly without any user ID or Password. However, it is recommended that you register on Cambridge Higher Education platforms and create a username password for yourself.

 

Textbooks are available through Cambridge Higher Education platform cover subjects across Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Medicine and Humanities, and the Social Sciences.

 

Trial ends: 31st December 2022

Key Highlights of HE Platform:

 

  • No restriction in terms of number of users, unlimited concurrent users can access simultaneously
  • Most of the titles come equipped with resources for Students and Faculty – Slides & Instructor Manuals. Instructor manual requests are normally completed in 2 to 3 working days. Please visit your account page to view the status of your resource requests
  • Books can also be accessed offline via the Cambridge Spiral App available across platforms – Windows, Android and iOS (https://www.cambridge.org/highereducation/services/contact-and-help/offline-bookshelf)
  • A user can download and read 20 books at a given time without internet in his/her bookshelf
  • Books are printable (up to 15%)
  • Users can “annotate, highlight and bookmark”; they can also make ‘notes

Activation of Oxford Journal Subscription

BRAC University Library is pleased to announce the addition of Oxford journals to the vast range of electronic resources.

 

Oxford Journals Collection features 366 prestigious, highly cited, and authoritative journals published in collaboration with many of the world’s most influential scholarly and professional societies. Current subscriptions include access to the latest content back in 1996.

eBooks of Elsevier Focus Collection in Finance

We are pleased to inform you that 816 titles eBooks of Elsevier Focus Collection in Finance have been subscribed for one year at Brac University.  It gives the users to print, save, download all the contents (PDF & HTML version) with Open Athens remote access as well as institutional access based on IP
 
They will also give us access to all new titles of  Finance which will be published by Elsevier during this period of contract apart from the existing titles they are offering us.
 
However, it is recommended that you register using the official email address on the ScienceDirect platform and create a username password for yourself.

Free Access to Cambridge Online Textbooks and Most Cited Articles from Psychology Journals

Cambridge University Press have set up access for 705 Cambridge Online Text Books and 45 Most Cited Articles from Psychology Journals for BRAC University till the end of June 2020. You need to use OpenAthens ID and Password for accessing the text books. Please find attached the list of 705 Cambridge Online Text Books.

Temporary access to Bloomsbury Publishing UK Architecture Library

Brac University Library has temporary access to Bloomsbury Architecture Library. Bloomsbury Architecture Library is online library of 240+ text and reference eBooks, images and 21st edition of Sir Banister Fletcher’s Global History of Architecture. Architecture library contains books on topics ranging from architecture and architectural history, to theory, design, urbanism, landscape, interiors, etc. Bloomsbury in partnership with Taylor and Francis, has recently added 200 key titles focusing on studio design and professional practice. You will need user ID and PASSWORD to access Bloomsbury Architecture Library. Please email University Librarian (librarian@bracu.ac.bd) with detailed information (student/faculty id) for ID and PASSWORD. The access is valid till 30th June 2020.

New Database Announcement: Scopus

Brac University Library is pleased to announce access to Scopus, a citation database of peer-reviewed literature.

What can Scopus do for you?

-          It contains over 22,000 titles from more than 5,000 publishers around the world.

-          It covers all disciplines including science, technology, medicine, social sciences, and arts & humanities.

-          Measure and track research impact

-          Visualize and analyze research results and trends in research

Searches in Scopus also incorporate searches of patent databases. Scopus gives four types of quality measure for each title; those are h-IndexCiteScoreSJR (SCImago Journal Rank) and SNIP (Source Normalized Impact per Paper)
