This study attempted to find out the roles a textbook can play in second language acquisition and how important a textbook is for second language acquisition and teaching as well. Moreover, this study also attempted to find the ways through which textbooks can be effectively used for second language acquisition. To find out these things, the researcher did surveys in English medium schools. It has analyzed the surveys or the answers or responds of questionnaires by using pie charts and following quantitative method. This research also provided the recommendation which can help teachers in terms of selecting and adapting books for teaching second language and also using authentic materials for better learning from books, so that students can gather pure knowledge and information about second language through textbooks. There is no research which is free from limitations; similarly this research also faced limitations. By overcoming obstacles and limitations, this study finally became capable to find out the answers of research question.
