As illustrated by Paani Committee’s (PC) movement for mainstreaming of tidal river management (TRM), civil society organisations (CSOs) often have to secure participation in environmental governance through mobilisations and movement. Their participation can also involve policy or governance innovation such as incorporating indigenous knowledge-based flood and water management approach as TRM that is also useful as a climate change adaptation approach.
