This thesis is submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Bachelor of Architecture, 2020. Cataloged from PDF version of thesis. Includes bibliographical references (page 80). Folk art and craft symbolize the tradition of the diverse communities and their lifestyle as they lived on this deltaic land and its landscape has major contribution in the cultural, socio economic life of the people of Bengal. Due to the lack of proper preservation and documentation the glorious cultural heritage and the delicately crafted folk art and craft which was inherited traditionally from the forefathers to their children that used to depict the history of Bengal are eventually fading away. As folk art and craft is practiced in the rural regions and maximum of the artisans are of lower marginal group thus less revenue generation is the main reason of it. This project was proposed based on the current circumstances and considering the site which is popular for its heritage buildings. Panam Nagar and Baro sardar Bari is the most popular visiting spot thus it provides opportunity to create a place where folk art and craft could be practiced and preserved via expanding the museum complex and this will become the cultural hub for the community where artisans and community people can socialize and this empower the artisan’s community.
