Cataloged from PDF version of thesis. Includes bibliographical references (pages 45-54). COVID-19 pandemic has significant mental well-being threat among children in Bangladesh. The study explores the teachers’ perception and understanding of COVID-19 on mental well-being and their practices during online classes of young children aged 6 to 8 years. Two methods have been used for the Qualitative study data collection; semi-formal questionnaires for group discussion and unstructured for in-depth interviews. Ten participants were selected purposively for this research. The research findings showed that the teachers are aware of the significant issue of mental well-being, but they do not have enough knowledge about it. Therefore, there is a vast gap in understanding this issue. However, few of the participants were trained but most of them hardly received any training or attend workshop on mental well-being. Hence, this essential issue should be highlighted among all the teachers in Bangladesh. Government should take some major steps towards teachers’ training or workshop on children’s mental well-being. Further work is needed to understand the issue of children’s mental well-being and teachers’ training should be included in teacher curriculum for better outcome. Nusrat Jahan Mumu M.
