In 2017, the World Health Organization (WHO) ranked Bangladesh 6th among the world’s 22 high-burden TB countries. In this study various hematological manifestations have been described in association with tuberculosis. In the present study an attempt has been made to study a complete hematological profile in tuberculosis patients. The prospective study was carried out among admitted patients in Shaeed Shohorawardi Medical College and Hospital, Dhaka city. A total of 290 TB cases were selected by simple random sampling technique. Patients who have been diagnosed with tuberculosis were considered for this study. The study showed that the incidence of TB occurs frequently among the age group of people 60 to 60 + years and high blood pressure were founded among TB patients. Weight loss and various clinical symptoms like cough with expectoration, fever, chest pain etc were found frequently among TB patients. In this study we found more male TB patients (58%) compared to female TB patients (42%). Among the various hematological profile of TB patients blood hemoglobin (Hb) level found low 75.6% in case of male TB patients and 83.6% in case of female TB patients. Blood RBC found low 77.4% in case of male TB patients and 72.1% in case of female TB patients. Blood platelet level showed low among 71.4% TB patients. On the other hand 91% TB patients showed high blood WBC. About 94.8% TB patients had high blood ESR. Serum creatinine level found high 68.5% in case of male TB patients and 77.5% in case of female TB patients. Blood glucose level found high among 62.2% TB patients. Mohammad Monirozzaman M.
