Cataloged from PDF version of thesis. Violation of people’s basic rights is a crime in almost every country in the world. However, many incidents in the real world gets passed unnoticed of legal attention. In this paper, we attempted to propose a model to detect violation of human rights, present in the incidents reported and stored in the form of news articles. Upon detecting the events of infringement, our model would classify a particular event to its specific type of breach, identify the location where the event has taken place and finally point out the geographical locations in a map for visualization. The system has been built on by using the news article archives of online news websites of The Daily Star, Prothom Alo and Dhaka Tribune. A M Saif Mahmud Talha Ahmed Azrin Hakim Tanjida Sultana B.
